Biography
British electronic rock outfit Infadels features Bnann handling vocals, Matt Gooderson on guitars and programming, Wag Marshall-Page on bass, Richie Vermin on keyboards, and Alex Bruford behind the drums. The Hackney-based collective, which took shape in East London, burst onto the live circuit shortly after its 2003 inception. Bruford—son of drumming legend Bill Bruford—joined forces with Gooderson and Bnann to establish the initial trio, after which Vermin and Marshall-Page came aboard; the expanded lineup then issued its earliest singles, “Leave Your Body” and “Can't Get Enough/Murder That Sound,” through Vermin’s own Dead at Thirty Records. Those tracks, paired with mounting underground support, secured Infadels the Best Live Act and Best Dance Band trophies at the 2004 Diesel-U-Music Awards. The honors directly led to a recording deal with Wall of Sound Records. In January 2005 the group entered the studio alongside producer Jagz Kooner to lay down its debut album, We Are Not the Infadels, which arrived in January 2006. Throughout the remainder of that year the band logged more than 150 performances across Europe and Australia, alternating headline dates with support slots alongside the Chemical Brothers, the Prodigy, and Faithless. Its inventive style and relentless touring schedule quickly established Infadels as a standout act within the burgeoning European rock-dance crossover landscape.
