Biography
Emerging from Seattle as a fresh force in big-band music during the 1990s, The Jazz Police operate under the leadership of James Rasmussen. Their 21-piece configuration highlights arrangements from Rasmussen, Dan Berry, Doug Rasmussen, and Paul Roth, together with vocals supplied by Greta Matassa and electric guitar supplied by Doug Zangar. Founded in 1987 and issuing their debut recording in 1990, the ensemble delivers modern big-band works shaped by the approaches of Stan Kenton and Gil Evans.
