Biography
The Joggers emerged from Portland with a gliding presence that echoed indie rock acts rooted in New York City. Darrell Bourque (vocals/bass), Murphy Kasiewicz (vocals/guitar), Jake Morris (drums), and Ben Whitesides (guitar/vocals) assembled in 2001 once each had performed in separate local groups. The foursome shaped a heavy, rollicking sound within their quirky-pop framework. “The Devil Wears Earplugs” became the Joggers’ first official appearance when it surfaced on the Startime Supercuts compilation in early 2003. Solid Guild followed from the band several months afterward.
