Biography
In the summer of 2001, New Jersey outfit the June Spirit surfaced and rapidly distinguished themselves via their potent EP Treat Me Like Someone Else. Its blend of impassioned vocals and sturdy songcraft propelled the lineup—vocalist Ian Musgrove, guitarists Alin Ashraf and Garrett Crouse, drummer Jordan Crouse, and bassist Dave Carlson—onto the road alongside acts such as the Descendents. Once the tour concluded, the group returned to the studio to lay down Testing Superstition, once more for Negative Progression Records. Issued in summer 2002, the album preceded the June Spirit’s dissolution the next year. A number of the members subsequently cut an EP as Fire Divine.
