Biography
The Last Conspirators deliver a potent brand of rock & roll that merges vintage punk energy, roots-driven grooves, and heartland textures, all propelled by sharp, politically pointed lyrics. At the helm stands Tim Livingston, a singer-songwriter who helped shape the early punk landscape across New York State’s Hudson Valley. During the late 1970s and early 1980s he fronted the Morons, an Albany unit widely recognized as one of the first punk acts to establish itself in the capital region; the group routinely topped bills in local venues and made regular trips to perform in New York City. Following the Morons’ dissolution, Livingston stepped back from performing yet kept composing and laying down home recordings. In 1993 he assembled GhostRunner, whose ambitious concept album Beneath the Apocalyptic Rain drew strong notices from critics throughout New York State. Limited release opportunities, however, curtailed its reach, and the project dissolved after only five concerts. Livingston again withdrew from music, taking a position at the respected reissue imprint Sundazed Records, until 2007, when he launched the Last Conspirators. The lineup featured Livingston handling lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, and harmonica alongside Terry Plunkett on guitar, Jeff Sohn on bass, and Al Kash on drums. Conceived initially as a recording endeavor, the band issued its first album, Warparty, then began scheduling occasional live dates that soon evolved into steady appearances at New York clubs. Their follow-up full-length, Powerful Friends, arrived in 2009.
