Biography
Based in New York, the Levins craft acoustic folk music centered on melodic vocal harmonies, drawing from a range of styles that span 1930s standards, retro sunshine pop, and traditional Jewish music. The duo, consisting of singer/songwriters Ira and Julia Levin, first crossed paths during an open-mike night held in Berkeley, California, back in 2000. Having tied the knot and begun performing together in 2002, the pair put out several albums over the years, such as 36 in 2008, Barely Contained in 2010, Cereal Days in 2012, Raise Your Glass to Charles Dickens in 2012, and My Friend Hafiz in 2013. Their sixth studio album, Trust, came out in 2015.
