Biography
The Lost Tricks function as the creative outlet for Trev Oswalt, a singer and songwriter born in Oregon and now based in Brooklyn, whose piano-centered pop compositions draw inspiration from the Fray and Ben Folds. In addition to his music career, Oswalt has pursued acting, with roles in the Will Smith film Hitch as well as series such as Law and Order and Third Watch. He launched his solo output under the Lost Tricks name in 2002, issuing the debut album Below the Bed that same year through self-release, followed by the full-length Eye of the Storm in 2004. For the self-titled EP that arrived via the same independent route in 2005, Oswalt enlisted bassist John Galgano and drummer Anthony Johnson. The project’s next effort, the six-track EP Keep It Together, appeared on the band’s website in 2009, by which time the lineup featured Oswalt alongside bassist Amit Shtriker and drummer Scott Morehouse.
