Biography
The post-punk outfit the Lounge Society, hailing from West Yorkshire, infuses their sound with a groovy, dance-oriented vibe that seeks to energize listeners on the dancefloor even as it offers sharp observations on social issues and the realities of countryside existence in Northern England. Schoolmates who later formed the group, its lineup features Cameron Davey handling vocals and bass, alongside Herbie May on guitar and bass, Hani Paskin-Hussain also covering guitar and bass duties, and Archie Dewis on drums. Eager to advance their career, the musicians dispatched numerous emails seeking attention, eventually drawing a response from Dan Carey, proprietor of Speedy Wunderground, who proposed laying down their first single titled "Generation Game" in 2020; further collaborations with Carey yielded the 2021 EP Silk for Starving and the 2022 album Tired of Liberty.
