Biography
The Love Willows deliver a smooth and spontaneous brand of pop/rock shaped by Hope Partlow, a onetime teen-pop singer, and the songwriter Ryan Wilson. Partlow inked her initial deal at age 14, joining the Virgin Records roster in 2002 and issuing her first album two years afterward. During summer 2005 she toured alongside adolescent heartthrob Jesse McCartney, yet Virgin’s later roster overhaul left her without a contract. Struggling to advance independently, she sought help from her former touring guitarist, Ryan Wilson. Their connection quickly became both romantic and creative, prompting them to launch the two-piece Hope & Ryan in 2007. After vocalist Sara Rachele joined and the act adopted the name the Love Willows, Rachele departed several months later, but Partlow and Wilson chose to continue as a duo. April 2008 brought a Decca Records agreement, and the pair’s upbeat, sun-soaked anthems soon surfaced on MTV series such as The Hills and the season finale of The Real World: Hollywood. The full-length album Hey, Hey also appeared that year.
