Biography
In the middle of the 1990s, New York served as the birthplace for The Martinets, whose members included Eammon Bowles handling guitar and vocals alongside guitarist Dave Rick, who had previously performed with Yo La Tengo, Roger Murdock on drums and vocals, plus the renowned Ramones producer Daniel Rey also on guitar. Their sound delivered intense punk rock themes drawn primarily from acts such as the New York Dolls and the Heartbreakers, positioning them as leaders among punk movement groups from the late 1970s. The band's first album, Love!Hate!, reached stores during February 2000, where it achieved moderate success while receiving notable critical attention. The New York group followed this with their next key release, Your Avid Output, issued via the Scooch Pooch record label two years afterward.
