Biography
In 1994 Louisville designer Scott Ritcher launched The Metroschifter as a personal solo venture. Members drawn from Endpoint and Falling Forward supplied the backing that allowed the project to shape a subdued fusion of melodic indie rock and intricate hardcore. The 1994 debut album Capsule first documented this approach. Doghouse Records then enabled Ritcher and his associates to issue three further full-lengths along with assorted singles and splits on multiple imprints. While overseeing that substantial Metroschifter catalog and delivering his own 1999 solo release, Ritcher also entered the 1998 Louisville mayoral race as the Reform Party nominee.
