Biography
Jairo Guedz, who had served as the original guitarist for the Brazilian thrash outfit Sepultura, a band with a devoted cult following, took the helm of The Mist. Having contributed to Sepultura's initial release Morbid Visions in 1986, Guedz departed the group to establish The Mist, which put out its debut effort Phantasmagoria in 1989, with The Hangman Tree appearing in 1991. Following the issuance of Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust in 1993 and Gotteverlassen in 1996, Guedz joined Overdose at the start of 1997; what began as a stand-in role for guitarist Sergio C. evolved into a full-time commitment, prompting the disbandment of The Mist.
