Biography
Known in English as the Monks of Norcia, I Monaci di Norcia belong to the Order of St. Benedict and reside at the Monastery of San Benedict located in Norcia, Italy. As intonation forms a regular element of their daily services, the ensemble produced a 2015 recording of Gregorian chants featuring the talents of Grammy-winning engineer Jonathan Stokes alongside Grammy-winning producer Christopher Alder. Their release, the 33-track Benedicta: Marian Chant from Norcia, encompasses numerous traditional favorites together with an original monks' composition titled "Nos Qui Christi Iugum." This album reached the summit of the Billboard classical chart while also charting on the Billboard 200.
