Emerging from the wreckage of the defunct folk-rock outfit The Toads, The Morning Dew came together as a new ensemble. Their initial 1967 singles "No More" and "Be a Friend" achieved regional popularity, leading to a contract with Morris Levy's Roulette imprint in the first months of 1969. An album's worth of recordings followed, yet the band dissolved before the year's end. A CD anthology has since been reissued by Collectables, while Gear Fab put out the folk-inflected track "Sing Out," drawn from unreleased sessions dating to late 1968.
