Biography
The alternative pop band the Mysteries of Life formed in Bloomington, Indiana, under the leadership of married couple singer/guitarist Jake Smith and drummer Freda Love, both previously members of Antenna, with the lineup rounded out by keyboardist Dale Lawrence, bassist Kenny Childers and drummer LonPaul Ellrich. Their first outing arrived as the single "Kira," prompting a move to RCA for the 1996 LP Keep a Secret; after the indie EPs Focus on the Background and Anonymous Tip, the group returned in 1998 with the full-length Come Clean.
