Biography
Formed toward the end of the 1990s in Aberdeen, Scotland, the punk-tinged indie rock group the Needles comprises Dave Dixon on guitar and vocals, Paul Curtiss on bass and vocals, Richey Wolfe on keyboards and vocals, and Johnny Wolfe on drums and vocals. The members drew from Guns N' Roses and Nirvana while showing scant regard for Brit-pop, prompting them to seek direction instead from the foundations of early rock & roll. After issuing two EPs in 2004—Under the City and 1,2,3...5—their debut full-length, In Search of the Needles, surfaced on Dangerous Records in November 2006. Onstage, the Needles have opened for acts such as Bloc Party and Muse.
