Biography
Forming an acoustic folk duo unlike any other, the Nudes bring together jazz guitarist Walter Parks alongside classically trained cellist and vocalist Stephanie Winters, who has worked professionally as a musician from her teenage years onward. The pair first connected in New York's Greenwich Village, putting out their debut self-titled album through Acoustic America Records during 1993. Recognition for their performances, which took place in venues ranging from museums and college centers to coffeehouses, secured them a deal with Rer, resulting in the release of Vanishing Point in 1995. Their third album, Velvet Sofa, came out in early 1997, again via Acoustic America.
