Biography
Hailing from Singapore where they enjoy considerable popularity, the Old Kings blend folk-rock elements while maintaining connections across the Atlantic to America. The group’s moniker draws from Route 6A located in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and traces its origins to 1997 when teenage students Patrick Linton, handling vocals and acoustic guitar, and Brian Crabtree, on guitar and bass, established the project at the Singapore American School. Because Linton frequently traveled between Singapore and the United States, distinct lineups came together for each successive record, which included The Old Kings in 2000, Going to the Opera in 2001, Welcome to the Inn of Happiness in 2003, and Divine Society in 2005.
