The Oppressed

Emerging during the early 1980s, the Oppressed provided a platform for Roddy Moreno, a vocal proponent of racial unity across skinhead and Oi! circles. Moreno launched Oi! Records, a fleeting yet pivotal imprint created expressly to issue the band’s recordings. The group maintained a steady live schedule across the remainder of the decade until Moreno’s deepening engagement with S.H.A.R.P. (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice) prompted their breakup. They reconvened in 2000, issuing fresh pressings of prior material alongside new songs developed under Moreno’s direction.
