Biography
Formed in 2012 by Tom Sutton of ex-Church of Misery alongside Patrik Andersson Winberg of ex-Doomdogs, Hans Lilja, and Staffan Björck, the Order of Israfel emerged as a Swedish doom metal outfit weaving folk and hard rock elements through its epic approach. Operating from Gothenburg, the metal stronghold, the quartet’s established doom credentials swiftly secured a contract with Napalm Records, which released the band’s debut album Wisdom in 2014. The group’s second studio album, Red Robes, arrived in 2016 and carried a bold, cinematic, brutal, and mysterious character.
