Biography
In New York during the late 1990s, Ed Baluyut—previously a member of Flower and Versus—joined Connie Lovatt, formerly of Alkaline and Containe, to launch Pacific Ocean. Their recordings emphasized subdued frequencies while incorporating sporadic energetic passages and theatrical flourishes. Enchante Records issued the Birds Don't Think They're Flying EP in 1997, followed in 2000 by the album Less Than the Needle, More Than the Shotgun on the same imprint. The group maintained a busy touring schedule alongside Versus, Whysall Lane, Andrew Beaujon, and Chemosake.
