Biography
Scott Wynn fronts the Panderers, an Indiana-based trio that fuses acoustic instrumentation with roots-rock textures and rhythms marked by swagger and dance-floor energy. Raised in rural Appalachia as the son of a coal miner, he spent his formative years on a tobacco farm where Neil Young and AC/DC supplied the soundtrack for the laborers. The country-tinged shuffle of Johnny Cash also caught his ear, an affinity that would later surface in his own work. After leaving the farm for a series of odd jobs and completing college degrees in industrial technology and political science, Wynn began sharing his songs online. His MySpace page soon drew interest from multiple labels. He settled on the Panderers as the project's name, recruited drummer/producer Pete McNeal and bassist Andrew "Scrap" Livingston, and cut the 11-track album Songs That Bang. Though not strictly retro, the record recalled Johnny Cash's classic period while injecting fresh vitality into older forms. The Panderers resurfaced in 2008 with the Hotshot's Boy EP, whose opening single "Come On" landed placements in several national commercials.
