Biography
John Coghlan, the former Status Quo drummer, assembled this fleeting British supergroup. He recruited Noel McCalla on vocals after the singer’s stint with Moon, Mark de Vanchque on keyboards following his time in Wildfire, Ray Major on guitar from his period with Mott, and Mac Mcaffrey on bass. The unit concentrated on Americanized melodic rock. Their debut, Organised Crime, appeared in 1985 and revealed how readily the veteran players meshed. John Eden of Status Quo and James Guthrie, whose credits include Pink Floyd and Queensrÿche, handled production, yielding an album that proved robust on several levels even while it merged with countless comparable efforts from other acts. The band dissolved soon after the record came out.
