Biography
Residing in Kent, OH alongside numerous other indie rock groups, Party of Helicopters crafts an unusual fusion of dream pop vocals and heavy metal guitar licks, evoking My Bloody Valentine meeting Iron Maiden. Guitarist Jamie Stillman, who also drums for Harriet the Spy, assembled the band in the late '90s. Their debut independent effort, Abracadaver, moved more than 3,000 copies on vinyl alone and demonstrated strong regional support, while their first national outing, Mount Forever, surfaced in late 2000.
