Biography
The Pee Wee Fist is a Boston sextet whose members are singer/guitarist Pete Fitzpatrick, accordionist Michael McLaughlin, drummer Andrew Plaisted, guitarist Moses Carr, bassist Anna Johansson, and thereminist Jon Bernhardt. Fitzpatrick had already used the Pee Wee Fist name for several years with rotating players, yet the present six-piece configuration has proven most effective and has remained unchanged since 1998. He states that the name originated with a "Hong Kong martial arts film starring a three-foot-high ninja." Multiple cassettes appeared over time, and on the occasion of their third anniversary the musicians released their self-produced debut CD, Breathing Apparatus, which earned considerable rotation on WFNX. Their follow-up album, Flying, arrived in 2001 on Kimchee records.
