The Ponies

Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
In 1960, while contracted to CBS, Link Wray & the Wraymen used the name The Ponies to lay down “Stupid Pony,” an unexceptional dance-oriented rock-and-roll instrumental whose main riffs are carried by blaring saxophones. Issued as the B-side of a single credited to “the Kid”—Bobby Howard of the Wraymen—the track later surfaced on the Epic-era anthology Slinky!: The Epic Sessions 1958-1961.
