Biography
In the closing years of the 1990s, The Pulses relocated from New York City—the city that never sleeps—to Seattle's neighborhoods steeped in grunge. The band's core consisted of Jessie Steinchen and Dave Ramm until 1999, when Shannon McConnell, formerly the bassist for the Fallouts, came aboard and solidified the lineup. This trio crafted a catchy garage punk aesthetic. Performances alongside other Seattle acts such as The Epoxies, The Cripples, and The Gloryholes came next. Their self-titled debut album, issued on Dirtnap Records in fall 2002, marked The Pulses' formal entry onto the scene. Fall 2003 saw the release of the Little Brothers EP.
