Biography
The driving force behind the Quags originated with Dennis Mitchell of the Crack City Rockers. While on hiatus from Crack City Rockers, Mitchell recruited several fellow Portland, OR, musicians to assemble an album steeped in classic rock textures. The ensemble entered the studio in 2001 intent on honoring inspirations that stretched from the Rolling Stones and the Faces to David Bowie and the Kinks. Paisley Pop Records issued the Quags’ debut album, Out in the Community, in 2002. After playing numerous shows on the Portland club circuit, the band has cultivated a devoted following. ~ Jason MacNeil
