The acronym R.O.C. expands to “raps on contact” and functions as Bryan Jones’s chief performing name. Also known as Sol and Sol 46, the Detroit rapper-producer first rose through House of Krazees, one of the city’s foundational horrorcore collectives of the 1990s. Across his body of work Jones has consistently tempered aggression with restraint, delivering confrontational energy while steering clear of the exaggerated imagery favored by most peers in the style.

During that same decade he joined Big Father Hi-Top for the 1992 Esham-produced EP Rollin’ with Strength and issued the solo album X-Posed in 1996. In the 2000s he reunited with former House of Krazees colleague Skrapz in the duos Halfbreed and Level Jumpers, served as hype man for Blaze Ya Dead Homie, and maintained intermittent solo releases that included a pair of EPs plus Oh Hell No! in 2006.

After a prolonged absence from recording, Jones resurfaced in the 2010s through numerous guest appearances and brief solo offerings. He and Blaze Ya Dead Homie also issued Ride the Stars in 2016 under the Zodiac Mprint banner, an album followed in 2017 by Digital Voodoo, the third proper R.O.C. full-length.
