Biography
Formed by musicians hailing from various U.K. cities, the post-punk revival band the Rushes established their base in London. While attending school in Leeds, siblings Gerard, who handles guitar and vocals, and James O'Connell on bass, connected with drummer Joe Allen and pianist Dan Armstrong. Assembling in 2006, the ensemble dedicated the subsequent year to live performances and capturing material for their inaugural release, Corners. March 2008 saw the issuance of the album's initial single.
