Having a backup plan never hurts when one's primary ambitions hit a snag, which is why Drew and Jonathan Scott, already established as hosts of the reality series Property Brothers, decided in 2015 to explore country music. The twins, born April 28, 1978, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, were raised in a musical household where their father regularly organized Saturday night singalongs on the family ranch. Early on, Drew and Jonathan nurtured passions for acting and comedy, yet they initially entered the housing market specifically to fund entertainment endeavors. Both hold real estate licenses, while Jonathan additionally maintains contractor credentials. Although music remained a pastime, the housing sector evolved into their main profession, leading the siblings in 2004 to join forces with brother J.D. in launching the production company Dividian Production Group and transitioning toward television. By 2011 the three Scotts combined their expertise in real estate, renovation, and entertainment to create Property Brothers, a series that began on Canada's W Network before HGTV in the United States turned it into a global phenomenon. Viewers quickly embraced Drew and Jonathan for their detailed guidance on converting fixer-uppers into dream homes, a popularity that spawned multiple spin-offs. In November 2015 the brothers presented the special Property Brothers at Home on the Ranch, using the broadcast to introduce their first original songs, "Hold On" and "Let the Night Shine In." The track "Hold On" subsequently went to radio as a single, and after the Scott Brothers completed a music video for it, the song entered the Hot Country Songs chart at number 38.
