Biography
Originating in Atlanta, Georgia, the surf-rock trio the Selmanaires took shape once twin brothers Herb, on guitar and vocals, and Jason Harris, on drums and vocals, relocated from Austin, Texas, and linked up with eventual bassist Tommy Chung, bringing Talking Heads-infused textures to their sound. After honing their craft through early performances at modest venues, the group cultivated a local audience and, by 2008, had issued several recordings, among them the debut album Here Come the Selmanaires, its successor Air Salesmen, and the singles "Just to Get Yr Love" and "Standing in Line at an Elevator."
