Biography
In 1997, the Sensualists—a retro-futurist pop combo from Portland, OR—came together under singers and keyboardists Anna Fidler and Philip Cooper. After drummer Roy Kettler joined, the ensemble launched its initial live performances and steadily broadened its multimedia resources by acquiring secondhand items that ranged from vintage synthesizers to customized film projectors. Bassist and turntablist Asa Metric rounded out the lineup, which unveiled its self-titled debut on the local Audio Dregs label in 1999. Adaptations followed in early 2001.
