Biography
Formed in St. Louis during 1990, the neo-psychedelic pop outfit the Sun Sawed in 1/2 began when bassist Ken Rose teamed with his guitarist brother Tim. They completed the initial roster by bringing in singer Doug Bobenhouse, keyboardist Dave Farber, guitarist Jeff Bartholic and drummer Bill Yaeger, then issued their debut LP The Happiness and Other Short Stories on the BeeHive label in 1992. Hot Feet for Monkey God arrived the next year. When Mind Flip surfaced in 1995, Farber, Bartholic and Yaeger had departed, with keyboardist John Holt and drummer Steve Bunck stepping in as replacements. Those additions proved short-lived, however, and the 1997 album Fizzy Lift featured drummer Matt Martin. Not Lame, a power-pop label, oversaw recording of that release and later issued the 2000 follow-up Bewilderbeest.
