Biography
Violinist Tom Rigney, who had previously played with Queen Ida's Bon Temps Zydeco Band and Back in the Saddle, fronted the San Francisco-based swamp rockers the Sundogs. He launched a solo path via 1989's Rigo before assembling the lineup with singer/rubboardist Joe Paquin, guitarist T.J. Politzer, bassist John Aughney, and drummer Jimmy Hobson; their rock-zydeco-blues fusion first surfaced on 1992's Howlin', with a return two years later on To the Bone. Heavy Petting from 1997 captured "Cajun Record of the Year" honors from Cajun Times and led to Dancing Room Only the next year, while the seasonal EP Bon Temps Noel: A Swamp Beat Christmas arrived in 1999.
