Biography
The instrumental surf quartet known as the Surftones came together in 1996, drawing inspiration from classic beach-party scenes filled with surf, sand, and sunny warmth, despite calling the icy city of Jyväskylä, Finland, their home base. They secured a deal with Maho Pop Records soon after performing their initial gig, which allowed their first full-length release, Expose Yourself to Surfers, to appear in that same year of formation. Their follow-up effort, Who Stole My Hypnotics?, arrived in 1998.
