Biography
Emerging from Texas as one of the scarce ska-revival acts, the octet the Suspects originated in Houston during 1993. Its roster included vocalist Thomas Escalante, guitarists Alan Hernandez and Bill Grady, bassist Charlie Esparza, keyboardist Joe Cote, trombonist Hunter Close, saxophonist Chuy Terrazas, and drummer Claudio DePujadas. The group delivered its debut LP Ninety-Nine Paid in 1995. Two years afterward came the follow-up How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Ska, and the third album Lost Along the Way arrived in 2000.
