Biography
Although not mods in any strict definition, The Sussed attempted to profit from the late-1970s British mod revival by releasing the novelty single "I've Got Me Parka," a lighthearted salute to the parka that served as the scene's signature garment. The band had begun life as a pub-rock act whose lineup included lead vocalist Oscar, drummer Roger Boden, bassist Dave Bass, and guitarist Kevin Law. After issuing one single on Shoestring in 1979, they embraced the rising mod-revival trend and put out "I've Got Me Parka" the following year on Graduate. The record generated little response beyond a devoted niche audience, yet it was reissued in 1986.
