Biography
In 1999 the heavy metal outfit the Swarm issued a self-titled EP that brought together three onetime participants from the Bay Area thrash unit Death Angel—vocalist Mark Osegueda, guitarist Rob Cavestany, and drummer Andy Galeon—along with bassist Michael Isaiah. Recording of a full-length album followed, after which a 2001 trek supporting Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell was completed. A benefit performance for Chuck Billy of Testament, then battling cancer, unexpectedly sparked a full Death Angel reunion three years afterward, leaving the Swarm project on indefinite hold. The group’s Beyond the End LP nevertheless secured a European release through Mausoleum Records in 2003.
