Biography
Ayad Al Adhamy of Passion Pit reveals his rock leanings through Team Spirit. The synth specialist, longing for his guitar days, enlisted college roommate Roman Tobias Pettigrew of the People's Church of Animal Town on bass and backing vocals, recording partner Champagne Dave Weingarten on drums, and Cosmo Di Giulio of DOM on guitar to craft a sound steeped in power pop. Their self-titled, self-released EP landed in February 2012 alongside the band's inaugural tour. In September 2014, an updated Team Spirit roster—Al Adhamy together with guitarist Kieren Smith, bassist Dan De Lara, and drummer Alex Russek—issued the debut album Killing Time.
