Biography
The Specials ignited a ska-revival wave that quickly spawned copycat acts across Britain. One of these was the Tigers, whose rhythm section took an unusual shape with blues rocker Pete Dobson on drums (formerly of Juicy Lucy), joined on bass by Nic Potter and Guy Evans (both ex-Van Der Graaf Generator). Assembled in London, the group’s remaining lineup consisted of guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Tony Jacks, guitarist/vocalist Ross McGeeney, and keyboardist Nicholas Cola. A&M put out the band’s sole LP, Savage Music, in 1980.
