Trophy Husbands blends bluegrass, country rock, and folk as an Arizonian supergroup. The roster includes Dave Insley and Jeff Farias, who also shape the Nitpickers’ relaxed country approach, plus Kevin Daly from surf-punk outfit Rave Danger, yielding a hybrid sound that sits between those two poles. Their first release, Dark and Bloody Ground, drew inspiration from a violent 19th-century family feud, arrived in 2000 amid favorable notices, and was succeeded by Walk With Evil in 2003.
