Biography
Since their early teens, Anna and Lindsey Troy have been refining a rock approach shaped by Ani DiFranco. The sisters, performing under the Troys name, trace the beginning of their musical path to their father’s passion for music. He started them on piano before either turned five, yet his deep admiration for the Grateful Dead left the stronger mark. Immersion in the Dead’s relaxed musical approach, along with a personal connection to Jerry Garcia, prompted the Troys to begin creating music themselves. Once they reached high school, the Troys entered the Southern California coffeehouse circuit at the start of the new millennium. Their Elektra debut, Massaging Your Ego, arrived in 2003.
