Biography
Functioning as much like a theatrical ensemble as a musical outfit, New York's Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black took its name in tribute to the B-movie scream queen. The collective fused its punk origins with vaudeville, psychotronic films, and burlesque performances, forging a trademark shock rock style. A National Healthcare appeared as the group's debut album in 1993, and Black Date followed in 1998.
