Biography
Richmond, Virginia outfit The Waking Hours fuse 60's British Invasion rock, power-pop antics, and a dash of glam rock to chase sheer enjoyment, sometimes punctuated by smashing their own gear onstage. The group formed when Rob Clark on drums and Tom Richards handling vocals and guitar launched the project in 1994; they later recruited Scott Richards on bass and Ricky Tubb on guitar, locking the lineup into place by 1996. Their debut album, recorded and released independently, left the band shouldering self-inflicted debt in pursuit of a fully D.I.Y. approach. Two years after that first release, Time Bomb Records discovered the group, offered a deal, and issued the self-titled follow-up.
