The White Noise

Emerging from Los Angeles as a melodic post-hardcore ensemble, The White Noise trace their origins to Dallas, Texas. There, singer/guitarist David Southern and drummer Alex Summers launched Set the Sun in 2009. The project initially leaned metalcore, built around an aggressive dirty/clean vocal split, and yielded two EPs plus numerous singles across its first five years. Following repeated lineup changes, Summers left in 2013, leaving Southern as the sole founding member. Southern rebuilt the band with an entirely new roster and rebranded it The White Noise in 2014 to reflect a pivot toward melodic hardcore. Now California-based, the resulting quintet signed with Fearless Records in 2015, releasing the singles "Bloom" and "Red Eye Lids" before issuing the Aren't You Glad? EP a year later. The White Noise delivered their debut full-length album, AM/PM, in 2017.
