Biography
Boston's Wicked Farleys favor "collage rock" over college rock and feature guitarist/vocalist Michael Brodeur, guitarist/vocalist/keyboardist Vanessa Downing (formerly of Samuel and Junction), guitarist/keyboardist Rob Laasko (also a member of the Swirlies), bassist Michael Cory, and drummer/keyboardist Ken Bernard. The band's intricate, droning approach first surfaced on the 1997 seven-inch Ken Theory, issued by Big Top Records, where it blended the Swirlies' and My Bloody Valentine's dreaminess with math-rock precision and punk force. Sentinel & Enterprise marked their initial full-length release in 1998, succeeded the next year by the Sustained Interest EP and Madonna. Early 2000 brought the group's return via Make It It.
