Biography
The Wingdale Community Singers, based in Brooklyn, New York, assemble guitarist David Grubbs of Gastr del Sol, singer/songwriter Hannah Marcus—who cut her solo debut Desert Farmers alongside contributors from Godspeed You! Black Emperor—and lauded writer/vocalist/lyricist Rick Moody of Purple America and The Ice Storm. The trio fuses urban imagery with Americana through an erudite mix of tuneful folk and atmospheric exactitude. Their self-titled Plain Records debut surfaced in April 2005, with Spirit Duplicator following in 2008 and Night Sleep Death arriving in 2013.
