Biography
Hailing from Spain, the Winnerys specialize in retro-styled power pop whose core sound draws most heavily from British bands of the 1960s, while also reflecting the influence of subsequent groups that had themselves absorbed those same 1960s sources. Merseybeat inflections commonly surface in the harmonies and guitar textures of their original songs, alongside echoes of additional touchstones such as the Byrds and psychedelic pop outfits. The band put out its self-titled, self-released demo CD in 2002; two years later the entirely English-language album . . .And the Winnerys appeared on Rainbow Quartz.
