In Los Angeles during 1999, musicians from various established rock acts assembled under the name the Wondergirls for a brief supergroup project. Participants encompassed Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray, Ian Astbury of the Cult, Shannon Leto of Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jay Gordon and Ryan Shuck from Orgy, Doug Ardito of Puddle of Mudd, Ken Andrews from Failure, Martyn LeNoble of Porno for Pyros, Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age, and Ashley Hamilton. Despite the depth of talent assembled, the collective produced only a limited selection of tracks. Their lone single, "Drop That Baby," received an accompanying music video, while a rendition of Sly Fox's "Let's Go All the Way" appeared on the Celebrity Deathmatch soundtrack and resurfaced years afterward on the 2013 Iron Man 3: Heroes Fall soundtrack featuring vocals by Robbie Williams. Additional recordings included the B-sides "Circles" and "Massive Heart Attack." By 2000 the Wondergirls had dissolved, allowing each participant to resume work with their primary bands.
